Just got back...{Exerpt from Dead in the Family!}

Now that we got THAT out of the way... How did you start new years? Happy? Fighting? Doing other stuff? I want to know. I started the new year happy so, I hope that's a sign. Wow, 2010 already. Do any of you remember when it was 2000? Jeez, 10 years... 17 years of my life have gone by! Time flies, and that's a little scary.

Do you have a new year's resolution? I don't. I don't really believe in them. If you want to do something you do it and that's it. But I'm weird so xD

In other news HERE IS THE FIRST CHAPTER OF DEAD IN THE FAMILY BY CHARLAINE HARRIS!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I am excited. I love Sookiiiiieee! <3<3

Bye Bye, I out to eat crappy food on 7/11.

News of the Mortal Instruments

  • The Mortal Instruments books are going to be adapted into graphic novels. Can you believe that? Pretty impressive. This is going to be a new pathway for other comic book readers, and once they see how awesome the genre YA really is they will cross the unthinkable bridge of Terabithia and enter our world. *Evil Laugh on* Muahahaha *Evil laugh off* If you want more information on this click here.

  • As you may well know The Mortal Instruments will also be adapted to a movie. Do you guys think that we are heading into a Twilight type of fanaticism soon? The Mortal Instruments surely has the back up to be big, but will the audience's response be as big and dramatic? For the series I hope so. A series this good should have millions of fans. If you want more information concerning the movie click here.

  • The fourth Mortal Instruments book City of Fallen Angels comes out March 2011. Which makes a lot of us REALLY sad, because it's so far away. Though I'm quite scared. I loved City of Glass and thought it was a very fitting ending, will City of Fallen Angels be half as good? Will it give me the closure I seek? Or will it damn the whole series?

  • And finally, there is an excerpt for the first Infernal Devices book The Clockwork Angel in Cassandra Clare's site. The Infernal Devices series is before City of Bones, a prequel. Now this one I have high hopes for. If you wish to read the excerpt click here. The book will be released September 7, 2010.
Unfortunately there is no excerpt for City of Fallen Angels yet because the excerpt is suppose to come out in the paper back copy of City of Glass which will be released on August 3, 2010. The book will contain a full chapter of City of Fallen Angels in it, as well as a full chapter of The Clockwork Angel.

Now I gotta go to work; Oh yes, I got a job! fantastic! I am part of the evil forces behind fast food places. Woohoo (hey, I get paid).

See ya!

Best Books & Series of 09 (Adult Version)

Welcome to Bloody Bookaholic's picks of 09. As I said before 09 was a great year for a lot of things, specially YA books, but it also was a great year for Adult books. It's the year I first started reading about the crazy adventures of Sookie Stackhouse and the passion/deadliness of the Brotherhood. Not to mention to die for English accents and completely phenomenal female characters.
Best Series of 09- Adult Version

The Black Dagger Brotherhood by J. R. Ward

-Dark Lover
-Lover Eternal
-Lover Awakened
-Lover Revealed
-Lover Unbound
-Lover Enshrined
-The Black Dagger Brotherhood Guide
-Lover Avenged

The Night Huntress Series by Jeaniene Frost

-Halfway to the Grave
-One Foot in the Grave
-At Grave's End
-Destined for an Early Grave

The Sookie Stackhouse Series by Charlaine Harris

-Dead Until Dark
-Living Dead in Dallas
-Club Dead
-Dead to the World
-Dead as a Doornail
-Definitely Dead
-All Together Dead
-From Dead To Worse
-Dead and Gone

The Parasol Protectorate by Gail Carriger

-Soulless

And basically every book in the series is better than the previous one. But some highlights are...

Best Books of 09- Adult Version
  • Dark Lover by J. R. Ward
  • Lover Awakened by J. R. Ward
  • Lover Avenged by J. R. Ward
  • Dead to the World by Charlaine Harris

  • One Foot In The Grave by Jeaniene Frost
  • At Grave's End by Jeaniene Frost
  • Dead and Gone by Charlaine Harris
  • Definetely Dead by Charlaine Harris
  • Soulless by Gail Carriger

Weekly Wrap Up Created by Mindful Musings; Affiliate Updates by Bloody Bookaholic.

Best Books & Series of 09 (YA Version-with pictures!)

Ok so here's the thing. There are going to be a series of posts for the best of 09 (Best Books, Best Series, Best female and male characters). There are 2 categories YA and Adult since I read both. I will start with YA today and tomorrow I will post the adult version. Sounds like fun right? It is.

09 was a great year for YA. A lot of new authors, a lot of beginnings, and a lot of endings. I wish some series could just go on and on, don't you? Yeah, it was also a great year in the blogging scene since it;s the only year I can actually talk about lol I started blogging on February and if you would have told me that by December over 600 people would be reading what I wrote I would have called you crazy. But here we are now and I could not be happier.

SO! Let's begin!
Favorite Books of 09- YA Version
(Pictures in order; random order of favorites)

  • Eyes Like Stars (My first ARC copy T_T) by Lisa Mantchev

  • Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
  • Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead

  • Envy by Anna Godbersen
  • Splendor by Anna Godbersen

Honorable Mention- I Can't Keep my Own Secrets: Six-Word Memoirs by Teens Famous & Obscure by Larry Smith & Rachel Fershleise

Favorite Series of 09- YA Version
(Pictures in order; random order of favorites)

  • Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
  • The Luxe by Anna Godbersen
  • The Gemma Doyle trilogy by Libba Bray
  • The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare
  • The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Honorable Mention: Wondrous Strange by Lesley Livingston

Oh and one last thing...

One of the Best Fighting Scenes of 09:

It's the battle at the end when Rose kicks some ass. If you have read the series you know what I am talking about. I don't want to say much because I don't want to spoil it for others but oh it's good. I read it a couple of times. I love the fighting scenes on this series since all of them are basically fighting-for-your-life and Gosh-I-really-don't-want-to-be-drained-by-that-Strogoi.

See you soon,

Contest Update + A Wish

I have to announce that from 12 a.m. my Super Contest will be closed. There are a lot of entries and I'm so happy I put everything in order before today, if not I would have TONS of entries to manage and that wouldn't be fun.

Also I finished Soulless so expect a *coughs* good *coughs* review tomorrow. I really enjoyed it! You know that in every book there is some kind of spotlight? Like it's either character driven, plot driven, or something like that? Well, the spotlight of this book is the characters. I absolutely loves Alexia and Lord Maccon. Anyways you'll hear all about it tomorrow.

Now for my wish... I wish everybody had a fantastic day. Christmas is a day to be with family and friends and celebrate. I don't really go for the whole religious side of the day but if you do then good for you too. That wasn't sarcasm. Now a little pic before I go.

Merry xmax to everyone!

IMPORTANT! Let's Do a Little Experiment...

I feel like a mad scientist. I was just thinking, you know how I always make up the questions when I do interviews? Yeah, it always gives me headaches. I gotta admit, writing interviews ain't my strong suit. And mostly is because I don't know what you guys want to know. You are a very big crowd with different tastes all around.

So, I just got the 'yes' on an interview with a fantastic author (one of my favorites in fact! I thought I was going to faint when I saw the 'yes' but I'm not much of a fainter) and this time I will let you make the questions. Call it laziness, not really, but I prefer to call it something new.

I will be picking the best questions of the bunch. Since I am the only one who knows who the author is I will be writing the questions that have to do with the story, but you guys write other more general and fun questions. I will give you hints about the author.
  • One of my favorites.
  • Has never been here before.
  • She is kind of big in the Urban Fantasy world.
  • There are vampires in her books.
  • Oh, I'm sure she fits in the category of Smexy Books.
So, begin to write!!!! Just so you know you don't have to come up with 5 specifically, just ask whatever you please.

Best Blog Award

Hey guys, there was some voting going on Mindful Musings concerning best blogs of 2009.

Well apparently I got into one of the categories so would you guys be so kind as to give me some support? And by support I mean vote, vote, vote. Lol There are also some other pretty kick ass blogs so choose wisely!

On Today's Episode...

...Of Smallville it was about recovering repressed, or just lost, memories. So I was discussing this with a special friend of mine and I figured I would want to know my repressed memories. Who knows, maybe they will help me in some form. Remember people I have forgotten. Or even where did I lost that super big Gameboy.

All I'm saying is wouldn't it be neat? To remember things that happened to you but that you don't really know anymore? Well my friend said no. Because, he said, what if you remember that person but you can't reach her/him? That would suuuuck. And I think that is true. But even if you can't reach that person it would be nice to know they existed and that they held some sort of importance. I think it's sad when sometimes you forget people.

Also what if you remember something excruciatingly painful? That is sometimes the main reason you suppress something. But I think I would still want to know. I think. I don't know. Ugh!

What do you think?

Blue Bloods & Its Companion

Basically what it says in the title. Blue Bloods will ahve a companion of sorts. From what I found there is no cover. But there is a summary. Here:

Lavish parties. Passionate meetings in the night. Bone-chilling murders. Midterms. The day-to-day life of Schuyler Van Alen and her Blue Bloods friends (and enemies) is never boring. But there's oh-so-much more to know about these beautiful and powerful teens. Below the streets of Manhattan, within the walls of the Repository, exists a wealth of revealing information about the vampire elite that dates back before the Mayflower. In a series of short stories, journal entries, and never-before-seen letters, New York Times bestselling author Melissa de la Cruz gives her hungry fans the keys to the Repository and an even more in-depth look into the secret world of the Blue Bloods.
Won't you come inside?

Another Blue Bloods Book! Well, not exactly but you know what I mean. I will probably buy it. I have to have everything in a series so Ill buy this. What do you think? Are you buying it?

Also I went to amazon.co.uk and found this (May contain spoilers):

If you think your family relationships are complicated, think again: you haven't seen anything like the ones in Bon Temps, Louisiana. Sookie Stackhouse is dealing with a whole host of family problems, ranging from her own kin (a non-human fairy and a telepathic second cousin) demanding a place in her life, to her lover Eric's vampire sire, an ancient being who arrives with Eric's 'brother' in tow at a most inopportune moment. And Sookie's tracking down a distant relation of her ailing neighbour (and ex), Vampire Bill Compton. In addition to the multitude of family issues complicating her life, the werewolf pack of Shreveport has asked Sookie for a special favour, and since Sookie is an obliging young woman, she agrees. But this favour for the wolves has dire results for Sookie, who is still recovering from the trauma of her abduction during the Fairy War.

A summary from Sookie Stackhouse Book 10 Dead In The Family.

I just got my SAT scores, I think they are good! I liked the SAT's better than the ACT's. Woot!

So...Teaser Tuesday I Guess,

I wake up at 11 am. I was so happy cause today I was going to rent Post Grad. You remember how excited I was about watching Post Grad right? Yeah, well, stupid Blockbuster don't have the movie! I swear I saw it on their COMING SOON thingy and now ITS NOT.

So I rented 500 Days of Summer instead. Lol I'm at this scene where the main character gets laid and it's so happy he just says hi to everybody and starts dancing. Literately dancing. I guess its a happy day.

I'm reading Soulless right now. It's a book about the supernatural on the 20's? I think it's the 20's anyways. Its set in London where the supernatural are out of the closet and can roam about freely. In London there's this spinster called Alexia Tarabotti. She has no soul and she is Italian. Which for society in London that is outrageous. Oh and she was attacked by a vampire of all things. She gets out alive by accidentally killing the vampire. But she is not getting off easily because now Queen Victoria is interested and is investigating through a handsome werewolf named Lord Maccon.

Here is my teaser:
"I say!" said Alexia to the vampire. "We have not even been introduced!"
Miss Tarabotti had never actually had a vampire try to bite her. She knew one or two by reputation, of course, and was friendly with Lord Akeldama. Who was not friendly with Lord Akeldama? But no vampire had ever actually attempted to feed on her before!
So Alexia, who abhorred violence, was forced to grab the miscreant by his nostrils, a delicate and therefore painful area, and shove him away. He landed right on top of a plate of treacle tart.
Miss Tarabotti was most distressed by this. She was particularly fond of treacle tart and had been looking forward to consuming that precise plateful."
Pg.2-3

Did you guys see my buttons!? They are all thanks to Eli. She's great.

Happy Holidays!
